  I'm a bit frustrated with the lack of clear information. I came in to have a tooth checked out that was giving me pain. Dr. Nunley and staff took an x-ray and said I would need a root canal, or a tooth extraction but they barely mentioned the latter option in an attempt to steer me towards root canal. So I spent about $200 that day to get a medicated temporary filling. Dr. Nunley did a good job putting it in, but I did not notice any improvement in pain even with the medicated filling, and went ahead and took a full course of Penicillin which did take care of the pain. Dr. Nunley referred me to Dr. Linebarger's office (Mountain View Endodontics) for a root canal. I called to get a price, and on two separate occasions they told me it would cost $1305 and that that would cover everything. So I waited a month for my appointment and when I got there I learned it's actually $1305 + another $200 for a "permanent filling." Okay . . . After the procedure I then learn that they are now referring me back to Dr. Nunley to get a crown to put over the "permanent filling" which will cost an additional $800! So I will spend about $2500 on this tooth. I wish Dr. Nunley or her receptionist would have had a sheet of paper showing me these steps and ball park prices. I would have just gone for an extraction and implant.

  I truly appreciate that Dr. Nunley started out her professional career as a dental hygienist. I believe it shows that she knows dental practice from "both sides of the fence." I also appreciate her philosophy of care. For example, once I needed a filling and she asked me how I felt about trying it with a bit less numbing and see how it went. Less was better in that instance and I comfortably received my filling and the numb feeling went away more quickly. On the other hand, I was there on another occasion for a more extensive procedure and was able to use nitrous to relax a little more. I like that I have care tailored to me and my changing needs.

  I didn't make it past check-in. First of all, you're not allowed to accompany your child during treatment. No thanks, that's a big red flag. I'd have no idea what they're doing and how they're treating my kid. Second of all, the receptionists behind the glass were making fun of my daughter's name while we were sitting in the lobby... and she overheard them. Glass doesn't make a very good sound barrier... Needless to say, I told them about themselves and we left. How unprofessional.
